Practical Experience
Austin’s experience began long before A.M. Lewis. After high school, he spent ten years managing a 10,000-acre family farm in central South Carolina, where his responsibilities included overseeing the use of commercial pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers. That hands-on experience gave him a practical understanding of pests, plants, turf, and the conditions that affect them.
Education
Austin earned a degree in Forestry and Wildlife Management and later studied Agriculture at the University of Tennessee, where he made the Dean’s List and was a member of both Gamma Sigma Delta, an agricultural honor society, and Alpha Gamma RHO, fraternity rooted in agriculture.
Licensing & Certification
Austin completed testing through Clemson University’s Extension program and earned licenses covering structural pest control, aquatic pest control, and ornamental and turf applications.
